Almost the End of 2015…and an Art Sale

Well, it's almost the end of the year, and what a year it has been.

Between growing my kids, growing a business, and trying to fit everything else in, things have been quite up and down in my world. This makes for some interesting emotions to pull from for my artwork. I mostly favor 'positive' emotions when I paint, but at times the slightly darker ones can make for some interesting creations. Above all else, there's music. Always music.

The music tempo moves my brush alongside the colors and shapes that I see in my mind. When I paint personal commissions, I often request a few favorite music samplings from the person to gain insight into their persona. I suppose that if you saw the playlist for each art piece that I've created you would gain insight into my personality.

My goal for 2016 is to focus more of my creative energies and time to my art. Of all of the avenues that I split my attention between, painting fulfills me at a soul-deep level. So, why not? No time like today to take on tomorrow.

In support of this transition, I have the majority of my older pieces on sale for 25% off on my site. I want to make both mental and physical space for my new work, as well as reinvest whatever proceeds I make towards canvases, paints, brushes, etc. You would not believe how expensive some brushes can be!

Regardless, I wish everyone well at this time of year. Be with those that you love and hold them tight.
